Science Club

Tonight we kick started our Year 5 and 6 Science Club with 10 enthusiatic scientists! Our scientists are currently working towards their very own CREST Award which is a nationally recognised accreditation scheme for project work in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects.

Over the upcoming weeks, children will be completing 8 STEM challenges which will encourage them to think and problem solve their way towards finding answers and results. This week's challenge was called 'There's a hole in my bucket' which challenged the children to find out which was the best material to plug holes in order to contain the water. They tried all sorts of materials from foam to fabic, bubble wrap to cotton wool but after rigorous trial and testing, they found that Blu-Tac was the most efficent way of plugging the holes and allowing the bucket to fill.

Well done to everyone who took part in tonight's science club - you worked brilliantly, enthusiatically and with a super scientific mind! Keep your eyes peeled for next weeks challenge.
