We had a fab time this week at Science Club with our task 'Tumbling Toast'. Our mission was to help Miss Mayor Quandary to find out if toast really does always land butter-side down and whether or not there was anything we could do which would help make a difference to which way it falls. Armed with a couple of toasters and a few loaves of bread, we set off testing to see if the height at which it was dropped, how it was dropped or even the toppings had an effect on whether the toast landed face down! After lots of rigurous and tasty tests, we discovered that a smaller drop height and lesser topping would mean that the toast would 'normally' land the right way up and the toast was still fit to eat which meant we all got to enjoy a few slices before pick up.
