The Great Fire of London

Class 2 and 3 designed and made Tudor Houses, while thinking about the Great Fire of London and how the fire spread.

We had a visit from some firefighters who arrived in their fire engine ready to put out the fire. We watched as the houses we made were set on fire and discussed what we could see, smell, hear and feel.

The firefighters explained how the wind pushes the fire along the line of houses in a similar way to how the fire spread in the Great Fire of London.

The firefighters used their hoses to put out the flames, however we do know that in Tudor times they did not have firefighters or fire engines.
