Class 3 have spent the last few weeks studying rocks, fossils and soil in their Science lessons.
All the children have fully embraced this topic and have really enjoyed finding out how rocks and fossils are formed as well as undertaking investigations into the properties of rocks and soils. We have used our observational skills to classify different rocks and completed some fair testing on soils too. Take a look at the photos of our 'Which soils absorb water?' investigation.
It has been lovely seeing children out and about in our local area, searching for different rock types and bringing examples of what they have found at home to share in class. Take a look at 'The Rock Cycle Song' we learnt and wrote our own verses to, the children LOVED it but parents beware it's a little 'catchy'!
