Day 2 - Whitby

Not ones to let the rain dampen our spirits, we were up early this morning after an uninterrupted first nights sleep and ready for a full day in Whitby. Due to rough seas, our plans for today changed slightly. Some of the children spent the morning completing a Dracula tour around the town; searching for clues and following maps to eliminate different places, whilst the other groups donned their waterproofs, for a morning of dry ski-slope skiing at East Barnby. Ski-ing in June ... ha ha ha!! Sercretly, I think the children were delighted that the bodyboarding had been cancelled as they thoroughly enjoyed wizzing down the ski-slope. By the end of the session, we had some extremely confident skiers who will be returning home, wanting to book a ski holiday.

At lunch time, the groups swapped over and carried out the other activity. The children loved spending time exploring Whitby, and even got chance to spend a bit of money on the slot machines.

Tonight, the children are currently chilling upstairs in their dorms before we play a few games, have some supper and head for bed. According to the weather forecast, the sun is set to make an appearance tomorrow. Hooray!!
